Rusty old brakes

I'm having trouble disconnecting brake hoses from back of brake plates and getting bleeder valves to unscrew, both rusted up to high heaven. Any tips heroes? Got sprays and patience, but any further guidance valued greatly.

sometimes a small amount of heat (from a kettle etc) may help

I had the same problem on my bug, a bit of gental heat and good quality, well fitting spanners did the job. My spanners are good diy quality but felt like they were aboyt to slip/ round heads off , used my brother in laws top quality spanners and just seemed a better fit , may be just me tho!!!!!!!!!!!
