The tailgate of my 72 Crossover won't stay open - probably due to the additional weight of the Fiamma bike rack. I compared notes with someone else on a campsite whose Bay also had a Fiamma rack - and his stayed open fine. But rather than attempt to re-tension the springs, which seems tricky, I thought I'd add a gas strut - or maybe 2 - to keep the lid up.
Anyone tried this ? Are the Brazilian T2 struts sold by JK compatible ?
