same old question- engine getting hot

replaced tinware over heads, new oil cooler, new enngine seal over gear box. however engine is getting really hot. couldnt touch rear valance it was that hot and so was dizzy as well as dipstick. fan cleaned out so nothing in there. any advice please

If your unsure on tuning an engine I'd recommend you get someone who is to go through it.

When you say running hot do you mean oil temp? Have you got a temp gauge fitted? What exhaust you running, I run a vintage speed and my valance gets hot.

no temp gauge, although oil light started to flicker on. standard 1600 engine and exhaust. couldnt touch valance it was hot. maybe i am paranoid and i know these engines get hot, but it seems too hot to me!!! need to feel someone elses engine to get an idea

is the dip stick too hot to pull and hold?

I know its not very 'technical' but its how I judge my engine ...

I know its ok when its hot .. but not too hot to hold.

no too hot to hold onto!! distributor is also too hot to touch!!
