Seat belts

What year is it where a car needs belts for a MOT. Got to the stage where my 1965 MG can be MOTed after sitting in the garage for 12 yrs. Cant find the belt bolts ( in a safe place with the spare wheel i cant find) to refit them so can it be moted without them. And i getting tooooo exiced to wair to order them.

It was compulsory for all uk cars to be fitted with from belts from 1965. But i am not sure if it was from January of that year. Hope it helps. I had a B- plate beetle which was built late 64 i think and that didn't need any for an mot!
