How much would u expect to pay for a running engine for a bus?
I realise it depends if it's been stripped down and overhauled
What should I expect to pay for a basic running engine
What price for a rebuilt ?

Sold mine for £600, that was turn key out of my bus with a recon carb from Cogbox that was £180 on it's own.

Basic used turnkey Running 1600 engines, vary wildly seen some for £400-£500 upwards, but there's a risk as it's an unknown

New/Rebuilt engines....... That's a very slippery slope   if you catch the bug, your engine can cost more than a bus

All depends where you get the engine from, some stock re-builds seem cheap, but then cost twice as much in time and effort chasing builders that can't be contacted.
As for non-stock engines, your wallet's the limit.
Carbs are the biggest expense though, and then the gearbox may need rebuilding.
