Ok, my van is a 69 lhd with a tandem master. I have been thinking of fitting a remote servo but they are all listed as single circuit, not for dual/tandem systems. But would it be possible to join the two pipes from the master and then into the servo inlet as normal, and run to a 'T' piece split to front and rear with a pressure reg fitted inline to the rears?

I had a Bedford 350 camper that ran a servo and drum brakes all round and they were worked very well, (3.5 tonnes takes some stopping when rolling) My thoughts are that the shoe size and cylinder bores are about the same and I can see no reason why the stopping power could not be improved considerably with a brake booster.

Plenty of room in the engine bay to fit the remote and only a short run from the inlet manifold. Just need to rework the brake lines.

Your thoughts? is it worthwhile pursuing?

Several options

1. You can buy a dual circuit remote servo from Skintaracing or Creative Engineering for about £280. This will boost both circuits and maintain the safety of split dual circuits. This is the popular option.

2. Just fit a single circuit remote servo on the front brakes (not my preferred option)

3. Fit a conventional mechanical servo on the front beam and bolt your current master cylinder to the back. Creative Engineering sell a kit for £195. This is the setup I've got and I like it.

I'm running porsche vented disks all round (on a late split). Before the servo it was worse than stock, now it stops so well you're glad its got seat belts!
