How about a hinge flap above fridge direct to surface top with some magnetic cupboard things to stop it flapping around on the two units.

Looking good though.. keep us posted Ozzie!!

How do you fancy the postage on my old home made coolbox ??? It’s an old sea chest but most excellent. Holds about six dozen bottles of beer and good for at least three days. I’m now doubting myself, why would I ever change that perfecto set up ?

Ozziedog,,,,,,,,,,I’ll send it by Royal Mail, it’ll be there for your ninetieth :)

That is part of the intention, but only have access to halfway but from both sides, maybe even another drawer or two. The bit I’m searching for ideas is the bit facing you as you open the slider. I’ll have another recce and see if Stella boxes might fit in there for the empties and the bottle tops, and maybe the rubbish too, a recycle centre sort of.

Ozziedog,,,,,,,, that bit there.

I'm astonished Ozzie, it looks great, managed to get Pip to have a look and she says it looks awesome.

:D:D:D
Brilliant and good for you Pip, you knew it wouldn’t be standard I’m sure. Not sure if I’m keen on you being ‘Astonished’ lol. But so long as you like it. I didn’t get on it today, got called in to Asda with loads of drivers off poorly. But any progress is better than none.

Ozziedog,,,,,,,,,, Getting there ! :)

Some great ideas coming in there peeps. Got onto it for a bit today. So I’ve cut the top to size and trial fitted it then popped it on the scales 41.2 pounds for a top is fairly hefty but I’d like it to be strong enough for several reprobates to be sat on it. So I’ve scalloped and scavenged a fair bit out from underneath and that reduced the weight to 30.8 pounds, so a good ten pounds less or a quarter less weight.

IMG_4715.jpegI’ve left some ribs in it to strengthen up the middles and relieved where the angle iron sits plus the raised sides of the toolboxes. This allows the top to sit down primarily on the two pairs of raised sides and the angle iron. There’s also a tongue styled continuation through between the front seats and the walk through. I’ve reduced it by 16mm mostly and a tad more where the angle iron sits.

Ozziedog,,,,,,,,,,,,that was loads of cutting :)

Then, I thought it was getting a bit late but I’m not too keen on all that freshly butchered wood living in the garage with the weather either freezing and snowing or raining enough for Noah to make a reappearance. So moisture moisture everywhere. Tossed up whether to give the underside a coat of watered down unibond to tie it back together or a coat of paint to keep the damp at bay <<< see what I did there ! So I’ve opted for some acrylic dark grey all in one paint that should seal it all back together. The very very finest from Ze Middly Of Lidly. A nice dark grey. Then get another coat on tomorrow after work. :)
IMG_4717.jpegTwo coats at least required, it sucked it up like a sponge.

Ozziedog,,,,,,,,,,,,That should keep it fairly dry. :)

Top work!! As above, use the fridge as a keg cooler and have a a Stella pump on the top

The side space can be a urinal......Thank me later (y)

I could just stand there all weekend, Stella pump AND a urinal, I wouldn’t need to move until I need to sober up.

Ozziedog,,,,,,,,,There’s worserer ways to spend a weekend I guess ! :)
