I have finally got a cooker and passenger seat from a dormy and am going fit it in the Westy, can you show me some pics please, looks like the Dormy seat will bolt in to replace the standard passenger unit, altho as its a different material i may try and use the frame on my seat but not sure if its possible as i havnt looked closely enough.....

Thanks

Hi

Made a start tonight, took the front brackets off the doner seat and cleaned n painted them then riveted them on my seat, looks like they are handed though, can someone post up the fixing points on the tubs please, placed the seat back in for now but think im gonna have to modify slightly.....

Thanks

Did this with mine took the the cooker and seat and fitted to my lhd westy. Reversed all the brackets and swapped the seat covers over. Was easy to do. Will post photos when I find them. It's great at show pop the cooker up and everyone goes nuts asking which westy code it is

Cool,

I took the brackets off the front of the seat last night and riveted to my seat as its far better than the doner, tho i think they are designed to fit the different shapes of the tub, and mine being LHD means the brackets are on the wrong side, can you comfirm this as i only had a quick look last night.

i did exactly the same, swapped the brackets over, I bent then over at 180deg to reverse them. the brackets snapped as i expected so welded them along the angle. hard to explain, but i'll find some photos and upload them

cooker in use on holiday.

pm me your email address as I remember loxy sent me a load of photos I still have that show measurements of where the brackets mount to.

I think the other photos are on another PC, so i'll have to do some more searching.

Thanks for the offer, PM sent.

Im stripping the cooker tonight giving all the metal parts a good wire-brushing and a coat of paint. Looking forward to getting it in.

Right, im getting the seat brackets flipped and re-welded, should have them back this week 8) The cooker is now back together, and I have got my head round how it all fits together, well kind of.......just need to blag some flat 25mm bar to make the leg.

Does the cooker sit completely flat when stowed? Cause it dont look like it will, tho im guessing it dont need to, any pics?

Thanks all

Looking good with what you have done so far. 8)
Hope it works as intended ;)

Guys, im in the bus trying to get this seat to fit, the bit thats stumping me is how the hook on the back of the seat mates with the loop on the bulkhead, it looks like once in place n bolted down the seat wont preform its majic trick :? There were spacers on the donner seat spacing the hook out, but does it need to be bent also on an angle?

Also if some1 can have a look, the bungs that are screwed into the base where it meets the back mean the seat now hovers over the fixings that use to keep it in place, but does the cross menber of the seat lay in the fixing or just infront of it, to those in the know this will make sence

Thanks in advance

Does anyone have this fitted and still use an awning?
I like the idea but i have a kyham awning and using the cooker with the door open and means theres not much room atthe front of the awning, well not enough to use with the door open anyway unlees anyone can show some pics to help.

Froggy

The idea of the Dormy cooker is to use in whilst sat in the drivers seat, in LHD guise you still can but the gas controls will be behind, not the end of the world just inconvenient. I toyed with the idea of turning the mechanism around like Uber Coool did but couldnt be arsed at this point
