It's pretty rust free and straight. engine and rear bumper is missing

If anyone wants to call, phone 07801949726 as my workshop land line is down

or email [email protected]

Tim.

Arrived at last...

A tidy looking bus and it's very rust free, even the battery tray is perfect! it has a small bit around the outer middle seat mount on the cargo floor, cab floor edges and like i said minor lower screen rust. i think some of the upper green paint is original and the roof definately is. the headliner is in good clean condition with only a couple of small tears. it has curtain rails already fitted too. interior is not too bad, needs a good clean and the front seats need retrimming as usual. engine is missing but the rear support bar is there, rear bumper is missing but i have a battered blade i'll throw in(no brackets). It has 2008 tags on the licence plates so has been used recently, the brake pedal feels good too so hopefully the breaks just need checking over. Basically it's a quick and easy project with great camper potential or a bit of an investment with the way bay prices are rising. it was built Oct 69.

price is £3250 onvo as is

£5500 on the road, MOT'd, reg'd and ready to go with a freshly rebuilt 1500sp engine

Quite your jibba jabba fool!

You are right people are mad. It seems that there is more money in buses with MOT and Registered maybe because people are afraid of the unknown. WHERE IS YOUR SENSE OF ADVENTURE?

Graham at FBI does seem to knock them out for good money, is it because he sells them with MOT (most of the time) and it makes it easier for the customer. People in the scene who could do the work themselves tend to want something for nothing (Me included  ).

Tim...If I had your talent for sourcing cool buses and your ability to make a bus look sorted I would be spending my time training someone up to do the easy stuff and be knocking them out lowered, MOT'd and Registered etc (Easy for me to say)

Advertising where not just the VW people look could help, the scene seems to be getting far wider with all of the 'Old School' scallies jumping on board.

You are right though, people are mad.....this is a BARGAIN!!! A Solid Early Bay Delux for £3250......Come on People, this should be gracing the shows this season.

I've tried taking people on to help get the time consuming less skilled jobs on... i've had nothing but agro and always end up doing it all again anyway. so i pay someone for doing nothing and get a load more stress. basically there is more stress that money in this importing game unless you charge the earth for ***** and have no business morals... well that's the way it seems to me.

hence i'm shutting my workshop down and concentrating on the online shop and finding more cool products to sell.

i have picked up my last bus from the docks and this is the only one i have left for sale(the rest belong to someone else)

£3000 gets it out my hair...

That is a real shame! You have bought in some really nice buses in over the past few years. And at fantastic prices.

The online shop will be great though!

This thread is 12 months out of sync with my life.

I searched everywhere to find a van like this and for this price. A year ago i would have had it, no question.
also, if someone offered me a job, doing spanner work on cool old cars i would have done them proud.

show season starting soon, hopefully the van will get sold soon.

good luck.

Ok here you go kids...

special offer for this weekend only... £3250 firm and i'll throw in the newly rebuilt 1600sp motor for nothing...

Now tell me that's not the bargain of the century?!

A truly bargacious deal!

If it were a walkthrough I'd be seriously interested

i cant believe this hasnt sold yet its actually kind of worrying does this mean the prices are dropping ? id buy it myself but have 4 vehicles at the minute and in the middle of moving house so i dont think my relationship could handle any more hassle .
get it on ebay tim theyre paying more than that for rhd rust buckets

It doesn't mean the prices are dropping, it means that people can't look at something and see it's potential... if it was lowered with a set of alloys on it people would be w*nking all over it... that's always the problem, a lot of people are scared or too lazy to take something and make it there own...

its a cracking bus and id love it but no space, time or money..damn morgage!

stick it up for 5k get knocked down to 4K and everyones happy!

seriously dude good luck, thats a cracking bus at a cracking price

i've seen it in the flesh - straight almost zero rot and what there is isn't to worry about..........

I don't get it either - this van at VF will be 6K. I might buy it yet just not saying for def as I need to get finances sorted plus I have an unfinished 73 to deal with.

perhaps a list Tim of what you consider it needing for an MOT - may help - people may look and think ...I can do that, and that - that's easy etc etc

perhaps the 'lifestyle' buyers are waiting for their April bonuses??

when I next pop over tim we'll chat business - cos I still think if buses are lowered and 'touched' by the RHR look they'll fly.........

your prices are awesome - I'm not into dirt slinging but lets just say a bus company in East Anglia was taking the p*ss with their prices recently when I asked for some engine work.

John Maher got my business..........

Due to the lack of decent rust free early Deluxes(or any early pre Aug 70 bays for that matter) coming up for sale in America i am raising the price of this bus to...

As is £4000

with rebuilt 1600sp engine £4500

mot'd, UK reg'd, lowered 3 1/2-4" all round with an adjuster in the front beam £6500

check out the last 10 pages of the samba for bays for sale and you will see my point. i am happy to sit on this bus until i get time to put it on the road, people seem to think the market for early Bay's is swamped at the moment, it's true there have been a load come in in the last couple of years but they are now running out and once people realise there is not a never ending supply the price will rise... so there you go, i don't expect anyone to jump on this bus after i just raised the price... but the time for it being a bargain has passed i'm afraid

it`s a rust free deluxe. Like you said the supply IS drying up not just in america but worldwide. I think this is really cheap( just my opinion)and am very shocked it hasn`t already sold. Someone is going to get a really honest deluxe here and not have to spend £2000 on welding.

not being funny but i would have thought if people are on earlybay they already have one, that is a cracking bus for the money, have you tried vzi or fleabay? i cant believe you havent sold that yet. i spent more than that on work on on my van and its not as nice as that yet lol
