Getting close to be able to weld a complete new sill on the sliding door side soon, I have the 3 pieces, inner, middle with track and outer but the middle sill has a couple of folds in it that don’t look right to me. I’ve read through these great instructions http://www.specialpatrolgroup.co.uk/spooky/sills/ns/ns.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; and you can see on one of the photo’s of the middle sill it has a fold at the bottom and also has a slight fold that makes it not entirely straight from front to back as well. I appreciate this would be better with pictures but I can’t do that until the w/end.
I asked JK about the middle sill and they tell me it’s right and it’s just a sandwich between all 3 components, I’m just unsure as to how if the middle component isn’t flat all the way?
Can anyone shed some light on this? I hope its just me missing something.

Thanks

OK, whilst I haven't answered the previous question, maybe someone can help on this one.
Finally got everything cut out of the way for new outriggers, offered up the new inner sill and wasn't happy with the fit. There were 2 problems, at the front outrigger, the sill sat up on the vertical flange at the end of the outrigger, shown below

I spoke to Alan Schofield and they said they have had some problems with the front outriggers and I just needed to trim the outrigger down for the sill to sit down correctly
However, at the back, the sill sits on the outrigger in a different way and this again appears to be too high, I can't get the sill into place without it pushing the rear outrigger down by maybe 10mm.
Sorry the pictures aren't great, I had to use my phone to take them.

Any suggestions or measurements on this? I'm questioning the quality of the inner sill, but think that maybe I just need to be sure the floorpan is flat after drilling out endless spot welds etc.

Had exactly the same problem fitting my sills. The solution I found easiest was to cut the lip from the outside of the outrigger (where it sits on the underside of inner sill) and weld it back on 10mm lower.

Hope this helps. In reference to middle sill shape, there is a consideratable difference in shape but once fitted it works fine.

must be a common issue but i only had it with the rear jacking points not the front. I just hammered a bolster chisel down between the outer and inner jacking point ends, and re-bent 10mm down, then ground the excess of the outside so they fitted (these were klockenholm jacking points)

yes you have to mod the jacking points ,bet there all made at the same place

finally found a pic of how mine ended up, as i said i just moved the bend further down and ground off the excess
