Got bored on the way back from South Devon yesterday, so decided to see which lorry gave me the best 'slip stream' and best mpg. Sad but true and i know it's dangerous! The results:
In last place was the AA van that i followed for about 5 miles. Quite frankly there was no effect at all.
In third was a knackered old removal van that allowed me to do 55mph without hardly touching the accelerator.
In second was a Wisemans Dairy lorry that again was doing 55 but it just seemed that much more comfortable behind it.
In first!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
A Ginsters Pasty lorry all the way from rainy Cornwall. I followed this for about 20 miles past Weston and onto Bristol. It was doing a good 60mph (thought they were restricted?) and the height and width made it a perfect 'tail gater'.
Can anyone do better???????
