Hi, I'm currently looking to buy a new pulley with degree marks
on it.

Empi offers "power" pulleys (small size) or standard size.

Does it have an advantage for my standard 1600 AS engine?

Thanx guys

Correct Alzy generally not advised on buses unless you have counteracted the cooling deficency...you should get upto in the region 5-10% increase....

I may be wrong about this but....... as they`re smaller they reduce the cooling efficiancy of the fan!!

May be wrong :?:

Not wrong...fact!

true words in the world, I have looked into different types of pulley and have had a scat one specially machined for the van (extra deep oil threads  ) Never put on a smaller one it will play havoc on your engine cooling. 8)

You should get away with it by fitting a big 72 plate cooler and deep sump and block off the exchangers but then you've lost the point and the expense of these items and would be better using the cash getting the increase via other methods, gas flowed heads, carbs ballanced properly etc....
