should be good for 160HP+ and no need for rolling road as the EFI adapts to your driving style and can be mapped on the fly. The fuel injection lines are all braided and AN fittings throughout (not shown in this pic) its being fired up tonight so should have a few more pics and some readouts

I'm pretty stoked and it should be on the water soon :D

Holly **** , that looks sick.
Is that going in your bus or bug ?
Engine fiasco with the guy in the states all sorted now then ?

I had great news last night that a guy called Dan working for the Better Business Bureau had managed to get the guys wife, she was the registered owner of the business. She was pretty mad with her husband as she knew nothing about it and is going to return the money asap :D Apparently Grease Monkey Racing was wound up a while back but the shitbird didnt mention me to his wife. As sterling has fallen against the dollar i'll pretty much get all my money back as it was 2:1 when i sent him the money even though he spent $1200 on parts which i managed to get hold of and put into this build :)

great engine and great news!! I love it when a plan comes together!

Ive got a AT code gear box and trans kit to go in to the bus so should be able to cope with 70-80 without screaming its nuts off. Need more power as ill be towing a trailer.

Ok Mr. showoff that beetle is plenty nice , good news about the outcome of your engine nightmare , I will put my whoopass stick away now

Nice looking engine and interesting specs too :)

Be good to hear more news & figures when you get them ;)

160hp is very good for that size engine too.

Regards
Chris

slightly off subject ,one of my old customers had a early soft top in white ,gene berg 1900 motor if i remember right had run 10.9 in states.took it for a test run with the lad that worked for me and tried a drag race launch.4500 revs and side step clutch.no wheel spin and picked front up,backed of when it got to 80 as it started to get a bit leary  sham it never say a strip here ,dont know what happened to it as he had to sell most of his collection, cant think of reg :? but 63 or 4ish

Wow! (engine and Cab) Johnny, I'm glad things are coming together. You are building up a garage most of us could only dream of. 8)

Keep up the good work and we'll keep our fingers crossed that the money to turns up.

I got an uncle in Phoenix AZ as well, so he was able to roll up and meet the dude, i hate dealing blind as you never know what the outcome is but if you know where the owner lives its a big bonus. I have to say the owner has been excellent in helping get exported and to LA. its got one or two very small blemishes and the paint is actually pearlescent which you cant see in this pic.

The last bug i was after the seller was a total ******* and didnt turn up for an inspection 3 times! costing me about $400 in travel costs, I would say if anyone is stuck and doesn't know someone and you want to buy give Randy at Oldbug.com a shout, what he doesn't know about dubs you could write on a stamp. Hes been great on advice and told me to walk away from a previous deal as things were not right with it.
