Many people with the excellent Fiamma cycle racks for the type 2 have problems with leaks. This is due to the hanging brackets which clip over the rear door compressing the seals which then lets in water during heavy down pours.

I've managed to make myself a neat solution using magnetic vinyl and happy to make a few more up if anyone is interested.

Cost is £7.50 plus p&p which I estimate to be about £2.50 (I'll be getting a firm price once I've worked out the best way to package them). I understand from talking to others that a typical sign manufacturer would generally ask for anything upto £10 for an off cut so I think this is a reasonable price to pay for a bespoke product.
If you are interested please PM me. These are only available in white unfortunately

Hi
just a quick question for someone that uses the fiamma cycle rack do you find that it marks the door at all because i have just bought one and a little nervous about putting it on my new paint job. :?:

thanks for reading shaun.
(sorry a little off topic)

They do supply some rubber protection but from memory it's a little undersized to do both the upper and lower brackets. I use cut up inner tubing and/or black electrical tape to protect the paintwork
