I'm about to start the inside of my 1972 T2 and wondering if there is any advice on what's the best sound deadening products to use, like fat max or dynamat etc.

I've read a lot about how roof flashing is the same. As dynamat at a fraction of the price, but worried about the bitumen etc that could be in it that would cause smells and problems.

Also how much of this stuff would I need to do all my van except the roof, which I don't need to do.

Any advice gratefully received. 8)

I bought some dnyamat type stuff of ebay to do mine. No problems with it smelling. The biggest difference to the sound in the bus was putting some egg box type padding on the roof. That really change the interior noise.

Silent coat. Cheaper than dynamat. Roof flashing would make the van smell when parked in the sun.
