Has anyone removed the spare wheel well from the rear of there camper or can you buy replacement wells?
Lifted the rear flooring on mine (the spares currently mounted on the front) to look at something and noticed that the bottom of the well is rotten as a pear, holed and paper thin.
Looking at either cutting this out and welding a plate over it (giving more engine bay room) OR fitting a new / replacement panel(?) and removing the front mounted brackets (nice smooth front)
Either option is OK but if the rear well isn't available then i'll remove it and plate it

NOS or s/hand only, removed and replaced mine not a hard job on a 67 but later one's have extra metal under the bottom which makes it a bit more difficult to remove.Just drill spot welds to remove and a couple of welds on extra metal on later ones.
