stainless steel rear light surounds????

ive just bought some of ebay and when i recieved them i was very happy with the quality only to find when it came to fit them they sit of the lenses rather than flush to them ,has anybody else bought these,of ebay to find the same thing???
il not mention the seller yet as i think its a genuine mistake and will hopefully get a full refund

mmm had a look thru but cant find anything,real shame because there very well made apart from the size

I bought some genuine vw ones at vanfest from a dutch seller, only to find the same problem, just that fraction too small all around to fit over the lens.

They don't fit the repro lenses. They will fit the all red lenses though.

If you want them to fit the repro red/amber lenses you need to trim the lip of the lens a tad....... or fit US all reds and and run indicators through reversing lights or the like....

But they do look cool when fitted...

ive had an email back from the chap and a phone call to say they wont fit the repro lenses unless you grind the lenses down :shock: he already new this but failed to mention it on the add which i find a bit ******,but hay im a happy kind a guy so il be geting the lenses on the grinder tomoro.like ive said,3 times now i think there really well made so hopefully worth the mesing around,thanxs for your responses guys :wink:

oh they dont fit the red repro lenses either ive got a pair in the garage and they are the same size

Luckily Ive kept the original yank reds with chrome bezel :wink:

I am guessing they are the same size as the original US spec ones. I have my original SWF chrome ones & had to grind the repro amber lens.

The original red US ones are smaller for some weird reason.

I have welded the reverse lights up, cos I don't like them!

got them on in the end had to take about 4 mm of all the way round to get them to fit.look good tho,only prob is that the old seal has streched so now there too big argggggggg,worked out exspensive in the end
