Had a go at adjusting my steering box , got the van up on axle stands, turned the steering lock to lock by turning the road wheel , then heard a clonk when on full right lock. Now I cant move the steering at all , is it posible that the ball joints on the track rods to swing lever have locked out. This has got me completly stumped, any idears , its a 1970 LHD.
Cheers Chris

When adjusting the steering box, do remember that for the MOT you are allowed up to 75mm of play on a non rack and pinion steering system, when the wheels are under load. If it was a normal rack n' pinion steering system you would only be allowed 13mm of free play. IMHO you should set it so it has about 25mm of free play each way.
