Stock Gearbox question

Does anyone run 1776 with stock CE gearbox
And what is
The top end/cruising speed you are looking at sensibly

I would say it is the same as the 1600 engine around 60 ish, except it makes a better ride with the extra torque up hills.

I run a 1776 motor with 195 65 15 tyres sqeezed on the rear with standard box 65mph at 4000rpm.Done Sheffield to Cornwall for last few years ok.
First is a bit short and fourth could do with being a bit taller,nothing you can't live with.

I have a 1776 with a stock gearbox, running 185x65x15 wheels which is a close to the stock rolling radius as you can get, twin ICT carbs and I get 70 at 4000 rpm.
