Strange speedo fault

My speedo, works fine until approaching 55 mph when the needle moves up slower till it just stops at 55

Started out of the blue a few weeks ago and looking for advice on cause , fixes or where to get it rebuilt.

Jacks garage checked the cable when she was in and no problem there so very confused

Mine does the same! Think that's my max speed :lol: :lol:

Strangely, she's happy to go a lot faster, so not a max speed issue, frustrating as speed cameras are now a thing to be super careful near
