Does anybody know anything about the glues in plywood? does it lose vapours, is it safe to sleep within close proximity to it?

Let us know if Wickes does carry it.

Cheers

Hadn't really thought about that, can't be much worse than sleeping above an engine though?
Can't grumble at a free high though

I used the same stuff you use to put behind the radiators not the polystyrene back stuff foam backed silver foil used spray glue to stick it to the bus then used silver foil tape to seal all the seams, toasty. Will post a pic when I can figure how to do it on this tablet

25mm Celotex.

Is that the same stuff as pictured above? Available in all of the big DIY stores?

this is the diy stuff

sparkys right celotex or kingspan is goooooood but to expensive for me and im only a fair weather camper and i also have a massive tent on the roof that kinda cancells out the good so the choice is yours :)

Just thought this might be worth mentioning as tried to do this a couple of years ago, went and bought some sheets of 8x4 which was fine size wise however,

I tried to the one above the cab (drivers/passengers seats) it was 4mm ply the problem I had was the grain was the wrong way round and as a result it wouldnt bend enough when I tried to get it in position. Its still in the shed waiting for another attempt or for another use ... if I can find one!

If its all sealed and fixed to the metal with no air gapsno reason it should more likely to get it between th insulation and the roof lining

Cheers for the responses fellas, was hoping to pick the ply up tommorrow but their not open! :(
Suppose I could still strip the old stuff out if its not to cold?
Having a westy pop top I suppose insulation isn't going to save a great deal of heat so it's not worth spending a bomb, however , every little helps so its worth doing.

My thought exactly, but try to do all the sides behind the panels not just the roof. It all helps mine is reasonable inside at the mo even now with the snow on the ground

I've just had a thought, what did you fellas use to cut the ply? I'm worried that a jigsaw might blast it to pieces?

either cut from the back or get some down cutting blades! leave the pencil line on and plane nice and straight!

Where did u get the ply from in the end and what was the cost per sheet??
