Right then fellas - apologies for the delay in posting more pics but it has taken a few hours to clean Murphy up ready for Skeg Vegas tomorrow after 2500 miles of road grime and 2 weeks of living in him!
Right where were we - oh that's correct we had just arrived at the camping area just outside the SPA F1 racing circuit!
Let the games begin!
My initial idea of arriving early was based around people I have spoken to in the past telling me it gets busy and cramped pretty quickly so the earlier the better - and boy was the information correct! We scored an absolute peach of a spot to watch the action and arrivals from
We were right at the front of the grassy area looking directly at the entrance road ( :msn4: drag strip :msn4: ) with the huge hardstanding area opposite us.
So here we are all set up
Even on thursday morning it was getting busy - and bear in mind the show doesnt start officially till SAT
Cool cars almost everywhere
Our techno loving german neighbours
Hard standing area opposite was pretty quiet for now
Alex B arriving with his trekker! Sweet motor
You have to queue up when the ticket sales open in your vehicle so you can pay the aircooled rate rather than the watercooled. Best again to get in early before the queues got silly - although it didnt stop some prick jumping the queue in front of me on foot and showing the staff a pic of his beetle rather than driving it over. I was fuming
Something happened with the guys up on the field behind us - British DAMAGE crew but didn't get a chance to go up and say hello
Anyway a helicopter arrived along with an ambulance - hope everyone was ok, could have been heat stroke as it was bloody redders
Clare and I decided that we would stack our empty bottles against the EarlyBay Banner infront of our setup and Foz and Mel decided we could have a competition for the most booze consumed - oh dear
It got lots messier!
There were people on scooters, trekkers and more cruising up and down the strip
Early evening boozing continued
Cool vehicles were appearing everywhere - Foz and I were speechless at the quality and sheer number of them, never seen anything like it before
Not the best pic however it tries to capture a beetle grinding its way down the stip - this went on for hours! Was awesome
Cheeky vimtos anyone?
Now onto Friday! Sore head and muddy knees for me! Still 1 day before the show officially starts! Foz and I are loving it however I am a little jaded and slighty hungover. And it is bloody boiling again
Queues building again for tickets
Crazy bus beetle combo - thankfully its a late!
Cool cars everywhere
Our girls chilling in the hot sun - Foz hard at work
Busy busy busy
Our bottle pile was starting to get out of hand!
Foz was more restrained and isnt a raving alkie
Awesome beetle
Later after some of this
I did some of this
Bastards
