Secondly yes it's a forum, you've been a member a matter of hours people aren't here to serve you, they'll help and I believe your question was answered in part.

You have a 72 you need a beam, you will need to make sure you get a post 70 due to the end plates altering or buy end plates and rebuild your beam to suit. Either specific year or the dual purpose with both hole groups, just don't get the 68s

I'm sorry for jumping the gun,

Thing is I've been offerd a import rust free but it will only fit a early bay and my van is a 72 crossover my dad is really handy as he's a sheet metal engineer and good at welding. I was just wondering if we could make it fit to my van.

Wouldnt bother trying. Just wait for a rust free beam that fits your Bus.

being a proud crossover owner myself chap, i'd recommend joining The Late Bay too. as our buses are a 1/2 & 1/2 cross breed of early & late; there are some very Knowledgeable people on both sites who are more than willing to share & help out. remember, if you pose a question on here referring to a later part of your bus you may struggle to get an answer, and likewise if you ask a question about an early part of your bus over on the other site.

We are a friendly forum but as noted above we are not here to serve and a very quick Google would have told you the beam mountings changed in late '69.

You asked a question and got a straight amd quick answer.
