Swapping sliding door handle but keeping lock

My door handle broke off, I have a replacement ready to go but I need to swap the barrel...

A couple of people have described the process to me but I'm concerned I haven't remembered it all and there seemed to be a specific order...

Put the key in the lock
Unscrew plastic interior handle
Pull out existing outside handle
Unscrew small grub screw on the handle
Barrel slides out
Then reverse with new handle

Anything I'm missing? Any gotchas?

Is the replacement a brand new one or second hand?

It's a second hand one, without the barrel. So I need to swap my barrel from the broken handle into the replacement.

Actually you missed one step: drop grub screw on floor and spend 10 minutes on your hands and knees looking for it
