years ago a friend who was heavily into all manner of cars, including vw's, gave me this deano dyno soars manifold, i think it might be called a 'holby' manifold?

web searches have come to nothing, so i'm throwing myself on the mercy of the forum, can anyone tell me anything about this part, specifically i'm wondering whether i should sell it and if so how much would it be worth and where would be a good place to punt it (are there 'specialist' webistes for such bits?)

or, if i fitted it, would it make much of a difference to the performance of my 1641 with progressive carb (would it fit a prog carb?), electronic ignition and 4 into one header with mondo muffler?

here are some pics:

I'm sure I have seen these in a book somewhere before - I know theres a guy on Volkszone that collects this sort of stuff as well.
I would imagine that its worth a good few quid - so sell it & buy something more useful for the van ;)
Will have a look in the books when I get a chance.

I think this is the fellah

Just re-read your post & noticed the holby bit - they are I believe a carb manufacturer that made (possibly still do?) carbs for American muscle cars etc - so I assume that it is specifically designed to fit one of their carbs to a vw ;)

thanks for the advice and the link especially! i get the 'holby' name now, i did come across them when i was searching the web

i did expect it to be worth a bob or two, as the sticker on it does say v rare, and obviously i clocked the dyno soars tag and knew it was a bit special.

given this is NOS and un-molested (unlike the one on the samba) and has all the appropriate pipeware i think i'm onto a winner

Its a manifold to suit a Holley Bugspray carb. I had one on a bug about 20 years ago. It was a good carb, maybe a bit tall for a van and might be problematic getting spares for. I bought the last one that Autocavan in Poole had in stock in 1989.

Just had a look in a couple of the books - no pics or details of this specific manifold but a few seem to think that the holley 200cfm & 300cfm was a good carb to have on a bug engine - how to hotrod a vw engine has quite a lot of detail on the pros & cons of different plenum designs.
