Just saw the banner ad at the top yesterday, phoned up and got a quote.

Beat my renewal by £90, and that included an upgrade to fully comp from TPFT too. Not bad considering I'm 21, I've got my insurance down to what I believe to be extremely reasonable :D Phoned up my current insurers, and they could only get within £10 of it even when dropping their 'policy renewal fee' and other such things...

The call centre seemed extremely good too. Fingers crossed I never have to make a claim, but so far I'm impressed... :)

So thanks EB/whoever worked towards it, much appreciated 8)

you can thank Hailfrank funnily enough, and also Peter from Cherished who has been very helpful in setting up a deal for EBer's :D

I'm about to renew and i thought about giving them a ring for quote

Does anyone know what their "agreed value" procedure is?

Also do we just mention that we are members on the eb.com forum to gain any discounts?

thanks

you will need to supply several images of the bus and agree a value with them. they have alot of experience on VWs, several of them are owners.

Having phoned them myself I do wonder how much earlybay experience they have. I'm delighted some of us have had good deals and say give them a go but their man Gavin did not convince me to sign up. Thankfully good old Clem agreed with my valuation of my van so I have stuck with Footman James at the moment.

i have it on very good authority they have an earlybay expert helping with the tricker valuations.

Any chance of this fine fellows name?

Disappointingly i have heard from two sources that they also have some one who "doesn't like eb's" is "rude" and under values our buses.

I would rather avoid this chap and it would be cool if i could ask for the eb enthusiast by name.

I requested a call back two days ago, heard nothing from them yet.

Well, they've just beaten my renewal quote by £25. So I was going to change to them - they were very friendly on the phone, but I guess that's because they want to win business. They sounded like they knew what they were talking about.... hmm.

I got a professional valuation last year, and they said they'd accept that. Or I could provide 6 photos and they would do a valuation. I shall wait for the paperwork now before committing....

I'm very surprised they haven't got back to you. Try them again and if your not happy with your quote or valuation then try somewhere else i guess. I havent heard anything bad about them yet apart from Mike. They made a point of beating my previous quote by a fair bit with a better valuation and the same conditions so basing it from my experience with them so far i cant complain.

I've been talking to Peter for a while time arranging the EB discount and he comes across as a very helpful and easy person to do business with and is keen to help earlybay members out, but as in all things you can't please eveyone, although a 15% discount can't be bad.

I'm pleased to hear they have an expert as Gavin really did my brain in! I did hear from someone but cannot recall who and they'd had the same experience as me.

I don't want to put people off and also don't want to damage earlybay's relationship with the company. If they have got someone who does understand where we are coming from it'd appear to be good news all round.

By the way what happened to Gavin?!! Drove off into the sunset in his splitty I guess?

I'll have to see how they consider the value I'll be submitting for my bay then.

It is the same value as agreed with my old insurer, so shouldn't be a problem, I hope...

:)

Quick question. What tyre sizes are you running on the BRM's? Could you add the details to the following thread?

Just got off the phone with cherished and they've beat the quote from my last insurer (Herts).
I've took out the policy and cherished charged £137 all in. limited to 4000 miles with an "soon to be" agreed value of £15k

impressed :)

Just had my agreed certificate, and they've agreed with the value I've put on my van (£3200, but my van is tatty :D). Happy days.

My agreed value certificate arrived, no fuss and they agreed with me on the price that it would cost to replace Frank.
Their agreed value procedure is so much more user friendly than any other insurance companies ive dealt with in the past. Email them the requested jpg's and your done 8)

I agree Ant, sent my piccies off and 2 days later the certificate arrived. Quality service and saved me a few quid on me renewal

Just got myself signed up to cherished and they have saved me £130. Happy days. :) What pees me off is when you come to cancel your existing insurance and they always want to try and beat it. How about not increasing the price in the first place, then i wouldn't have to shop around!!!

Its good to see so many happy campers. I was a little bit nervous of the offers at first but Peter has been great to work with on the offers and Cherished have delivered a great service to most people and the savings seem to be really substantial :D .
