The back door not opening.

The back door on my van is not opening.
Has anyone a trick to free it up

Remove the trim card inside the tailgate and release the latch with a screwdriver.

Good advice, my old one stuck shut after hatch rusting away around it. If it's stuck, the only way is from inside.

@sparkywig that worked a treat of course it wont lock is there an alternative way of locking this door instead of using the lock

Only caveman style that i know of, maybe get a length of wire or strong cord round the lock and tie it to something. Do you have tie-downs or other anchor point? or maybe a seatbelt mount, or the seat mount itself or if you have a pop top, maybe the struts. When I had my cab door locks out I tied the doors to each other, worked a treat. Was on driveway so didn't want to leave vulnerable.
