Tonight I had a windscreen fitted by Strongy off of here. He claimed he could fit it in 10 minutes, I didn't believe him. However he proved me wrong tonight and inside an impressive 7 minutes the old windscreen was removed, seal swapped to the new one and then in place and even polished! I have to admit he wasn't even rushing and was even drinking a beer whilst doing it :shock: Could be some sort of record.........

That is impressive. 
My screen cracked on my daily driver on the 20 April and they 'can't fit me in' to replace it until tomorrow, 2 May. They have told me to set aside 2 hours.
That's either a sign of retarded progress or of the simple yet effective thinking that VW employed all those years ago. Or it could just be a crap fitting service. Maybe I should have given Strongy a bell? :lol:

the problem with insurance work is that over the years we have been happpy to use who the insurance tell us to use. so now all the insurance is tied up with the big companies.the indipendant companies that can offer better service and quality cant direct bill most insurance companies nowadays so ure stuck with who they tell you to use,these firms know that and can keep people hanging on as they know we are all left without options :roll:
its a real shame,not all but alot of the fitters that work for these big companies have never worked on classics and really havent got the knowlage needed to look after your pride and joy.
