throttle adaptor kit for PROGRESSIVE CARB...is it just me?

Hi, i have tried numerous fixes on my progressive, including the kit you have a link to.It did improve things, but still i wasn't getting the full potential of the carb.Just because the linkage , in all tried positions would not fully open the second choke. I also tried a suggestion on vzi, about using a pulley type rig. This worked very well ..Too well.It fully opened the both throttles, which was top for drag races from the lights!But virtually impossible to drive tamely, or dare i say sedately! I'll never forget the volvo drivers face on one occassion in Warrington, and the stunned silence from my wife beside me!The problem seems to be with the angle that the cable comes through the airbox,not sure thats correct name.I have had the suggestion that i re drill, and reposition the cable? I have also tried numerous custom made plates all with various results.At the moment i am using the kit you have the link to,seems ok ,but still not fully opening.

To get full throttle on mine i had to slightly adjust the throttle linkage thats under the cab floor as there was a bit of play in the holes, welded these up and moved the holes slighty outwards to get more movement direct from the pedal, this then increased the movement at the carb and allowed full throttle (both butterflies open)
