i have a 71 bus that i am lowering 2 notches in the back and dropped spindles and a adjustable beam up front. what size tires should i be looking to buy? i am going to use the stock 14 inch rims on this. thanks for any suggestions

I'm wondering the same thing, but planning on using 15" rims. I want go low, but I don't want the drive ratio to go too low. So would some 195/65R15 work at rear and 185/60R15 in front? Probably on MWS Gas Burners, which are 5,5" with 22ET I think.

Hi,

My bus is lowered 2 at the back n adjusters up front.

Tested the speedo on the motorway the other day using someone following me and at 50mph it was only about 3mph out.

I think i'm running stock wheels with 185/65/14

I find the ride aint to bad either

Hope ths helps

By the way here's link to STRO-normswhere it's easy to compare the diameters. I know there's plenty of web programs for comparing different tyre sizes too, but these are real standards and include the allowed rim widths.

If you drop the rear by 1 spline 185 65 15 tyres will be fine and will provide similar gearing. If you drop the rear 2 splines the tyres will not fit. I have fitted the same tyres to the front but they bind slightly on full lock, so i'm hoping some 185 60 15 tyres will solve the problem
