tool kit & spares

Can anyone recommend what i should keep in my vw toolkit and also what spare items it would b best to carry in case of an emergency or breakdown whilst out in the van . Is there certain parts that are just always breaking or going wrong ?

For whatever reason i cannot link to that site fella but would suggest ,based on my own 2 am when its raining roadside repairs that you ensure you got packed a very good torch and up to speed batteries " a head torch is perhaps a good bet ! ( head torch =fits round yer head , leaving hands free ,not one a space cadet would have<2 avoid confusion !)
