Does anyone know where I can get the tool that is used for pressing in and out the steering ball joints? :msn4:

Googled it and looks like the original tool is VW 459. :roll:

Or does anyone have a home made version, that I could use as a template to make my own. :shock:

Thats the one i use. Paid for itself 100 times over in ball joint rubbers. this type lets you remove the ball joint without ripping the rubbers so its WAY better than the fork typ hammer in thingy.

Looking for the tool to remove/replace the large ball joints attached to the torsion arms... (suspension).

I think the original VW tool number is: VW 459 (appliance for pressing the ball joints in and out (2 parts)).

I found 2 in the states - I'll dig out the bookmarks in a bit......

both where 180 bucks though about 100 - I can get them sent by my mate in SoCal so no charges..........

the brass tube I bought is a very good fit - 56mm ID 7-8mm thick wall - I hop eto try it very soon, if it works u can borrow it if you cover postage?

or here they only do 459A for $169 and shipping is suspect outside us?? from convo with them or perhaps it was the first link??
