Can anyone help, just replaced my ball joint (went for lemforder in the end) . Cant find torque values for the ball joints or trailing arm hex bolts . thanks..

Hello, I hope this will help,

Steering ball joint to knuckle :-

72 lbs/ft

Tie rod to steering knuckle :-

M12 (castellated nut) - 22 lbs/ft
M10 (castellated nut) - 18 lbs/ft

Tie rod clamp bolt :-

11 -14 lbs/ft

thanks for responding, the ball joints at 72 sounds right but still need settings for the trailing arm hex bolts, these ones are important don't fancy loosing one on the motorway !

Is this link any help??

http://www.volksworld.com/tech-guides/technical-information/vw-torque-figures-10904" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

:lol: :lol: :lol:

Thanks once again but cant see it listed there or in any other charts I have found, this must be quite a common procedure these days maybe people just tighten up and hope for the best ?

Finally found them, just received my Robert Bentley manual (£16 from ebay) and its all there . 72ft lb for the ball joints and 29ft lb for the set screw and lock nut if anyones interested.
