Hi

Last night I started to reassemble my front beam after stripping it down to paint and add adjusters. When I put the torsion arms back on, the grub screw dimple in the torsion leaves do not line up by about half the hole. Do I need the compress the seals until the holes line up? The new seals are the same size as the ones that were removed.

This is my first time assemling a beam so any help is appreciated.

Thanks

Dave.

I found this with mine when I put it back together - I assume you've already nipped-up the centre grub screws?
I found that it was the grease in the end of the torsion arms that was stopping it slipping home - I just gave it some gentle action with a rubber mallet and it all lined up fine in the end.

;)

Yer the centre one are nipped up. I tried it without the seals and it lines up fine but with the seals it does'nt? It sounds like I should'nt need the clamp anything together to line them up?

As long as your seals have a healthy coating of grease on them there won't be any harm in compressing them a little to line everything up - as you said, they're the original seals and everything fitted fine before!

;)
