hi , i have fitted my new 2.1 twin carb engine in today yippy! one of the few problems i;ve come accross is that i carn't get full throttle, i have even bent in the tab on the end of the peddle but still short by 1/2" of travel (probably a good thing so i don't nail it!) any clever ideas ?

What linkage? Can you get full throttle by hand in the engine bay?

i have the same prob steve, but on a progressive carb just can't seem to get enough "pull" to fully open up the throttle :?:

hi, yes i can get full throttle by hand , i guess i'll have to lengthen one of the levers (linkage) under the cab floor. I don't know what make the linkage is but it's very similar to the cb one, still goes like **** for 3/4 throttle!
Hi Ant have you bent down the tab on the top underside of ya gas pedal it gave an extra bit of travel, p.s i.ve been bumping into a few people in and around Stafford with early bays, come spring time i think there's guna be more than 10 early bays at the club meet's !

I've got the same thing on my progressive weber at the moment, the second butterfly doesn't even open! I drove it 200 miles the other day like that,a bit slow up hills.I've got a very sloppy linkage under the accelerator pedal,so hopefully sorting that out will help.If not like Steve says I'm going to have to lengthen operating rod by welding an extension on.

thats cool steve i only know of yours mine and that fella on the stone road..... i've bent the pedal flap which helped a little, but i need to replace the linkage to so hopefully that will sort it...... saves fuel tho :)

You can drill another hole in the linkage under the front cab floor to increase the leverage. It might make the throttle a bit on or off though.

Post a photo of how the linkage is set in the engine bay, there might be other positions it can go to help.

Different years have different length cables. There is a '68 only one. On my '68 with baby dells we had the stock '68 cable I couldn't get full throttle. So we tried the one from a '71 I think and all was well.
