Have you tried the old method of reving the van and putting your hand over the top of the carb it can help sometimes

Not heard of this, what exactly does it do.

I have checked and cleaned the jets

Take the air filter off start the van rev it to 1500 to 2000 while its reving put your hand over the top of the carb it should suck quite hard do it a couple of times it can help and it's free so can't hurt trying it be carefull of the fan belt tho

Did you blow out all the airways in the carb. I had a similar problem and after rebuilding the carb it made no difference so I did it again with brake cleaner and an airline took out all the jets and blasted everything out. It worked for me.

Hi all, mine was the same a week or so ago, when it was a hot couple of days, kept cutting out at lights roundabouts etc, whenever i depressed the clutch really, done all the checks as above, oil level fine, even took the air filter off and put my hand over the top.....bout **** myself!!!, been out in it a couple of time since and all seen fine now, i put a dab of redex in the petrol tank when filling up but not sure if it does anything really, ive put my issues down to the hot weather that weekend and running the bus quite hard on motorways and dual carriageways for an hour or so!!!, anyone got and ideas how to cool the engine bay abit better, seen these deep sumps which hold a couple litre more oil, any good with cooling etc , cheers deano

I drove mine to its mot the other day (which it passed! :D ) and it started doing exactly this. Cutting out at roundabouts etc. I've just picked it up and it's nearly undriveable now!! Came on here for advice and top of the list was this thread.... Spooky!

I'll try everything that has been mentioned and if I manage to find the problem I'll post it up and see if it helps!

Not good timing for me though as I'm working this weekend and going away in it the next!

I've been taking my rotor arm out for security, could it be as simple as I haven't put the dizzy cap back properly?

Also I've had to run it pretty close to empty so could it be crap in the carb?

All wisdom appreciated.

P.s. sorry, don't want to hijack.

Just an update , the problem is sorted now, I think the main culprit was a dirty idle valve. My mate says it now drives better than ever. Cheers all for inputs on the thread.
