quick question, as this advancce booking thing has me in a dilemma

will be my first vanfest, and first full on camp in the new bus i hope (apart from action)

I will def be going, but the wife is unsure at the mo, if i book an advanced ticket for me and the bus, what if she decides she wants to come with nipper at the last minute?? is it possible?? surely if the bus and plot are booked extra passengers arnt a problem?(paid for of course)

I need to confirm this, it seems that weekend tickets are only available in advance and you can only get day tickets for the Saturday and Sunday, so if you turn up on Friday then ..... I dunno :?

Ill find out as its pretty relevant! For example if its raining that weekend, a weekend advance ticket for my Mrs would be a wasted £30!

The official word from Vanfest HQ is that NO weekend passes will be sold on the gate at Vanfest.

My advice would be to get a ticket in advance (I imagine that a weekend pass useable in 'General' camping wont be too hard to sell prior to the show should you not need it) or arrive on Saturday and purchase day tickets for any additional guests.)

This is madness on the part of the Vanfest team........................ The reason they said they wanted pre bookings only for camping was to determine how many VANS where coming to work out space for clubs/general/etc.

Not to let extra people in that are passengers in a pre booked van is stupid. Im sure it will be a graet event but this pre booking thing could possibly be what most people remember about Vanfest08.

They say it will be like this every year in the future and i except that teething problems are to be expected. Also some people/forums are moaning more about it than others which dosent help anyone, but to lots of people that do Vanfest its meant to be fun and dragging a mate along at the last moment is all part of that.

The last few years have seen problems at the gates with queues etc, but i dont think this will be solved this year..........its just that it will be people moaning about not being aloud in with mates etc, plus all the people that will try and wing it and hope the organizers let them in and say they didnt know it was advanced only.

So im expecting the normal queues and entrance problems that you get every year. (makes you wonder what the pre pay is all about) Same **** different way.

ive been to every vanfest since the start and to be honest im seriously considering not going this year its becoming too strict and gestapo like i have 2 vans and at this time im not sure which im taking im also not sure if my other half is going or not so pre booking is a pain i also have 350 miles to get there and lets face it my bay might not make it .with all the other specifically van shows starting up maybe i will give it a miss not as much fun when your stuck 4 fields away from the main show and miles from friends youve known for years definatly not the fun it used to be

Guys - I know how you feel ....

Just gotta roll with it this year and see what gives. I think its a shame that weekend tickets wont be available to passengers at the gate, and I 'think' theyve missed a trick there, but ...... :|

MORE INFO ON VANFEST ADVANCE BOOKING

The Vanfest advance booking is for ALL persons wishing to CAMP at this years event, (drivers and passengers. )

However we do recognise that some extra passengers (who have not prepaid) will turn up in prepaid vans and we have arrangements in place to collect fees from them as they arrive.

Hey, this is great news on the partners bookings front Makes life much more manageable.

I havent done anything regarding line-ups yet Ill get in touch with Vanfest to see if they want us then?

Cheers Guys. As Im up to my neck in it and have to get ready for Euro Bug In this week I will be closing the bookings after this weekend (July 5/6th) so please continue to book if you wish to.
Vanfest close the books at the end of July and I want to be sorted in plenty of time, so next Monday (July 7th) will be the Early Bay shut off date.

Remember - NO WEEKEND TICKETS ON THE GATE THIS YEAR AND INDIVIDUAL CAMPING WILL NOT BE ON THE MAIN SITE!
