It does look cool.ALready lowered ,nice wheels and a gene burg shifter.

I'd gladly sell mine, though the recipients wouldnt be too happy with the recurring trips to hospital with stones... just thought its a DC so could lug around the Dialysis in the back....

That's Luke from Terry's beetles selling that, is it not....?

Nice crewie, good price too....

But then I'm biased.... 8)

Should have ours on the road and registered next week...can't wait!

does everyone agree that this DC is worth £6K ,

if that is the case , what does it make my Devon worth on paper

( apart from the obvious what someone is prepared to pay for it )

I'm curious as I may have it under insured ,
is the insured figure what it would actually sell for on agreed valuations
daft really that I have never bothered to ask before

Depends what you're into.

Early crewcabs are 'somewhat rare' and this looks like a decent one (which is even more rare as most have been heavily used commercially). If it is good, and somebody wants it, I don't think £6k is stupid. If I had sufficient readies, I'd be interested myself.

There have been a couple of (admittedly late) crewies for sale by importers at around the £6k mark.

But you can't compare your Devon with it, you need to compare with other Devons of similar age, model and condition. Your Devon, unless pretty good, might well be worth less than that crewie.

Sorry if I'm stating the bleeding obvious, and no - I don't understand agreed valuations either.

lukes had this a while about 15months i think and it was for sale by a guy from Burnley for 4k. I couldnt afford it at the time . Its had the long sill welded NOT well either although i dont know if this has since been corrected but other than that seems ok . I personally think the price is a little steep but then again Im tight and refuse to pay London prices

It belongs to Tissy off here, Lukie's other half.

Personally myself I'd say the price is just about spot on. DCs don't come up for sale very often, and when they do they usually need a shed load of work and are still going for £3-4K.

its quite obvious I'm somewhat out of touch with prices and what is considered rare & desirable

so in your opinion and everyone feel free to comment on this

what is considered to be the

rarest early bay
and
the most desirable early bay

Hi Ernie,

Rarest for me would have to be a early non crossover RHD Double Cab.
The reason i say this is that most were owned by builders etc...and really used as work horses and so not many survived especialy in RHD.

Most desireable for me would have to be an original Devon Eurovette totaly stock with the red interior like yours. I love the typicaly English interiors of them and the Eurovette was the top of the range with standing room.

Mike

Hi Mike,

thanks for that ,
I understand what you mean about them mostly being used as builders
trucks after all thats what they were sold for , who'd have ever thought
that they would become "desireable" collectors cars , sorry vans
let me know if you find anything suitable

as for the campers I have to say I much prefer the real wood cabinets in
the Devons than those in the Westy's
I always have done since having my 67 devon Splittie all those years ago
thats why I went for this one as soon as I sat in it
the layout in the Westy's might be better but the Devon wins for me

let the quest continue,
