I've finally got round to starting my strip down of the 71 to enable me to get on with my Winter list.

On doing so I've remembered just how close the Vintage Speed exhaust sits to the support bar.

Now I know the bar requires a little 'trimming' to get it in there but I'm sure mine sits close than others.

Some thing I did notice today was that I only have 2 bolts in centre going in to the engine block and that the bar sits at a bit of an angle.

Any comments, suggestions, recommendations etc?

I thought that Spark. I wonder if the current set up lets the engine sit a gnats chuff lower at the back, hence my issue.

I'll get it 'notched' I think. Thanks Dude.

Didn't need to modify the bar on mine. Granted its tight - but it didn't touch.
Could it be your heat exchangers are sitting a bit lower than normal maybe?

I would recommend trial fitting before doing any mods to the bar.

I've had it on for ages but took it off yesterday to drop the engine out.
Was a bitch to fit last time so want to sort it.
I'll check the exchangers.
