I could, I guess, but the good far outweighed the bad, and many problems I think will be dealt with by the advance booking to camp requirement for next year.

I had to deal directly with Simon Holloway on Friday regarding getting on site - he gave me his full attention and did all he could for me. The bloke was a star in my book.

When I saw VZi was down i suspected it was one of two things -

1. The site had been taken offline in advance because all of the moderators were at vanfest.

2. The organisers got fed up of personal grief at vanfest so decided to pull the plug on vzi.

Or maybe it's just because it has crashed due to a large deluge of people logging on after vanfest?

I thought the price of beer was too cheap. Also, the toilet block was WAY too conveniently located for our club.

Our neighbors were too nice to us and noone complained about our noise!

The weather was too warm AND dry.

Just read a message from Brian Burrows (VZi owner). The server has well and truly died-never to be revived. There is a new server up and running but they are struggling to recover the old data base.

This is the message on VZI now...

There is a problem with the database.
The server hosting the database (members/forums, etc) has died.
We have a new server to use, but we are struggling to retrieve all the data from the old server.
We're on it . . . we're doing our level best.
More info when we get it

That suggests to me that there are no backups, it might come back as a virgin forum.

After the last big crash, they managed to bring most of it back. A few areas had to be completely created however, with the loss of all original contents.

Thats kinda scary for VZI. its strange that with something of that size they didnt have any redundancy like an automatic backup to another drive :?

Would be a shame to lose all that info. I don't like posting on vzi, but it is probably the best source to buy and sell.

I notice the JK shop etc is all working again after some time down and I presume there are are list of prorities for work - and Chat forums are low?

Im kind of enjoying the peace and quiet.
