VW front badge

Man of many questions. Each time I spend a few hours on the old girl I always find something else to ask [WINKING FACE]

Recently bought a stainless front badge off eBay to replace a "seen better days" plastic one. The stainless came with metal pins and I assumed I would be able to access from under the dash and attach clips (as per tailgate script badge). Seems I was wrong. Can't see no sign of any holes where the badge pins would come through on the inside. How do you go about attaching them??

The badge should have some serrated pins, these connect to rubber sleeve/Bung things which fit into the outside holes. You can buy these for about a fiver.

And they insert from the outside.
