VW Insurance for 18 year old

Can anyone recommend from experience an insurance company for my 18 year old son, passed his test last October but has had 2 bumps since then, one of them writing off his car.

He now wants to sell his Saxo to drive the panel I've just bought but all the specialist insurers are asking for him to be 21 or over

Have you tried confused.com I put my daughter (17 prov licence) on my policy details to see what the difference would be on my Beetle Kwik Fit & AA were 2 of the best around £500 rather than £100 fully comp (on both quotes) for me .

Adrian Flux / HIC are the only ones who will insure me. But I have a years no claims... and no bumps to date.

Flux insured me on my GT Beetle when I was 17.
If your van is lowered or has any engine mods they will shaft you for it.
Footman James would also be worth trying.

Not sure how it would work if you were trying to have him as a named driver on your policy though?
