My solex 34 pict 3 is leaking fuel from the spindle. I have removed the old bushes, which were brass, and replaced them with a set from the eBay guy. They aren't a really tight fit so I'm worried that I won't have cured the problem.

I have a weber 32/36 dfav and manifold that's off the wife's bug, a 1600 tp. Question is am I better off sticking with a solex or lobbing the weber on? or will the fact that the bushes aren't a really tight fit not be a major issue? Is the fuel leak symptomatic of another issue?

Will the weber be a bitch to tune with a 009 dizzy?

Any thoughts welcomed.

Cheers

Personally I don't get or like progressives, but that's just me. That said many people have had success with them. I will warn you though they can be a sod to tune.

Had one on my SP motor before fitting the TP heads and itcs ,it worked fine thing is when your crusing your on the 32 part so if its jeted right then you "save"fuel and then when you clog it you get 32+36 ,only prob is the restrictive manafold.

Better than a leaky carb I would say and can give you extra oomph at the lights if you
can get the 2nd venturi to open fully - that seems to be the biggest issue due to the linkage and cable angles. On Vzi you will find a number of ingeniuous mechanism that people have posted.

Also mine had faultly electric choke which made starting a bit of a chore but once running seemed OK. A DGAV indicates a water choke (A= Agua, E=Electic). but they can be converted
I believe.

Cheers
