The seal from my interior light has become badly stained over the years. Is there a way of cleaning it to remove the impregnated stains? Makes it more difficult when I don't know what it's made of, I'm presuming flexible pvc?
I've tried all sorts of household cleaners, but no joy.

Even better would be a new seal -are they available?

Id use a baby wipe, if that doesnt cklean it then its impregnated and probably wont come off. You 'should' be able to find a cleaner second hand one easy enough?
Otherwise try NLA or Bus OK?

Thanks for the reply, I've tried baby wipes etc with no joy.

Just seen something on Google about white vinegar, so I'm going to give that a shot.

Cheers.

I don`t know about using white vinegar on rubber but it`s great for cleaning lot`s of other things because it`s acidic, great for lime scale on taps too. We use a little brush it on,, then if it`s bad we soak a paper kitchen towel withsome and gob that over it to allow it to soak. Think I`d take the rubber out first though

Ozziedog,,,,,,,,,,,,,, Sounds like nothing to lose
