Hi all
I'm currently restoring a 1968 Westi bay.
Currently looking at the pop top, roof hinged at front. Cut the rotting canvass out on Friday afternoon (and had a few fights with breeding flies! Big ones too, about 100 buggers)
The wood is all rotten, so my question(s) are as follows:
-How do I join new wood to the fibre glass roof (what glue/bond would people choose)?
-Has any one reinforced the roof to bolt a roof rack directly to it to carry surfboards? I was thinking of aluminium extrusions, about 10mm thick.
-If I was to reinforce the roof/fibre glass pop top do I then need to reinf the hinges above the drivers cab? :?
Any help would be good on this,
Thanks in advance.
Greg
