The chrome clips that hold the ply panel on the sliding door and tailgate.

Is there a nack to getting these out? I've broken 2 already. do I need a tool? or just pull them out? Maybe i'm being a bit of a stump

Was going to buy new, but VW hertiage want 85p each  So would rather presevre the old ones.

You can buy a trim removal too that looks like a flat bladed screwwdriver but with a Y fork at the end.

It is possible to get the ply panels off without this tool dont just try to disengage one at a time start in the middle of the panel and push you hands behind the ply panel keep hands flat, then start to push the ply off the body moving towards the outside.

Are you trying to remove the button head with the panel in place? the panel and the clips come off as one item, then take clip out of the ply.

Unfortunately you will break some getting them out because they bend and lock the expanded part behind the door tin. When you replace them make sure you straighten them before they go in the door.

Unfortuately the tailgate panal is missing and someone just pushed the clips back in. I'll have a search for a tool and see what I cam make to pry them out.

you can probably get them from other suppliers, but found one from JK

Oh, got one of those in the bottom of my tool box.

You know the one that comes with the pack of 20 screwdrivers for a tenner that come from a car boot stall
