Evening chaps, I stripped out the front half of my headlining tonight and wasn't sure about the interior light, it seemed to be sunk into a recess in the headlining, and attached to a steel plate via rivets through the ply, looked a bit odd, as if the recess/hole was cut to big. Can anyone post up pictures of theirs please do that a can compare. Cheers, Brett.

I haven't got a picture to hand but the recess on ours is just slightly larger than the light unit.

From memory there us a plate as per your pic that is riveted to the headlining, the light snaps into the plate and just cut the headlining leaving a gap all around, pics aren't great sorry

It just seems fitted badly in my opinion, I didn't check as I haven't got that far yet but I would have thought the chrome surround on the light would have clipped over the cut edge tidying it up.(meaning the cut out recess would have been smaller) but I don't even know if the chrome surround comes apart yet?

After a bit of work today I sussed out why the light is not fitted directly to the headlining, I cut the hole in the headlining to the same size as the metal plate (so that the light would clip straight to it) and after the light was fitted I found that you could not flex the headlining enough to fit properly. So I had to cut the hole the same as original in the end which recesses the light slightly and allows the bend in the ply.

You live and learn.
