Westy Roof Rack query

Does anyone know what sort of timber they use for the slats on them?
I've scored a 2.3 metre rack that I want to make into a similar style. I know its hardwood of some type but not which type specifically.
I may end up using some recycled floor boards, they polish up a treat and are super tough.

Thanks for the info, now I've got a favour to ask.
Can someone measure the width and height of a slat for me?
The length of my rack is 6300mm so that bit is simple. It would be nice to get the perspective right so it looks right. I don't want it to be a repilica, just similar in style.
Don't worry if it is in inches or Millimetres, I can convert the measures.
Even on me new hi tech phone!
