Prefer a pop top, but will consider a tin top.
Must be unmolested but don't mind a lowered example, change of wheels etc.
Condition must be great, don't object to some faded paint.
Must have a full and tidy interior.
OK, now for my budget. I don't want to spend any money
I want to do a swap deal with my freshly imported and MOT's 63 Split panel van.
Here are the details......
I brought this van from California and shipped it in myself at the tail end of last year. It's an April 63 Bus, so gets has the sexy small back window and ice pick handles. As you can see it has been on fire. This happened when the previous owner in Cali was driving, a fuel pipe popped off the fuel pump. Luckily he had an extinguisher to hand so managed to save the bus going up.
It came to these shores soon after the fire, and as a non runner. The fire has not warped any panels, but the engine bay was a mess, mainly due to the huge amount of powder from the extinguisher. It has been stripped out, cleaned up and painted as has the fuel tank. The engine bay has been rewired, had a new battery, lid seal, a new tank sender fitted and the original 1600 engine overhauled and freshened up and refitted. The engine is sweet, and runs like a clock.
The Bus has new brakes including shoes, cylinders and pipes. I have also trashed the 4 sun dried tyres and had 4 new proper welted commercial tyres fitted.
The cab floor has had some work at some time during its life but it is solid and should present the new owner with no issues for a long time to come. This aside the rest of the underside is extremely good, as you expect from a Cali Bus. The sides are arrow straight, all the doors fit great and have no issues. This van was well cared for when it was Stateside. As you can see from the pictures it has had some mock rust airbrushed on around some of the hinges, fuel flap and lights. This is a bit of a Marmite touch I suppose, but its no issue if you don't like it as I have removed a little with some thinners to test the water.
All the duties have been paid, it was MOT'd the day before Big Bang and I am just about to register it.
I was going to get the rear of the Bus repainted, but due to the overwhelming positive response it got at Big Bang I have left it as is. (Thank you guys :mrgreen
It drives superbly, runs superbly and attracts more attention than the Swine Flu pandemic.

I took these pictures last week. The entire underside is being treated with a generous but not OTT layer of thin underseal tomorrow.
Thanks guys
