I have a bugpack mondo to fit once I get my engine back but am a little concerned it's gonna be too loud.

What are the differences between glass pack / quite pack etc?

What are you all running?

Fully merged headers with Phatboy muffler although baffles have long blown out so yes its very loud but with solid mounts everythings loud to be honest

A1 sidewinder ceramic coated header and muffler, also been hording a Stainless A1 Magnaflow but need to source a good header for it. The Magnaflow is a lot throatier with more of a rumble at idle. Both sound pretty tight.

I've got a glasspack fitted, quite loud, and really monotonous on a long trip...
....goes well though. :D

Couldn't go with a bug exhaust and twin tailpipes due to the engine capacity so got a quiet pack and 4 into 1 in stainless. Worked fine but found it way too noisy so made my own.

nice and quiet for the long trips

I was thinking about one of these to replace the glass pack, but will it fit?

Any ideas?

iirc the bug one is the same as the Blubird one just sans the ends! the blubird one flows better than a stock beetle exhaust so, also if iirc is fine upto 1776??

A1 SS sidewinder on 2074.

Did I read somewhere that a bettle exhaust would work on a bay 1776cc?
If so, is that unmodifed?
I thought it'd be to restictive?

I have a TurboThomas custom S/S with J-tubes

Sound great, no boom and makes good power.

Just

Bit of a tight sod and as I work at a motorbike shop I always make my own from old bike exhausts

streetmax merged header with mondo header. the only merged full-flow system I could find for the 71 without getting one built (this included getting an A1 from the states that didn't fit  )
works a treat and goes really well.

I've got a Bugpack quite pack atm and its loud when you gun it but not so bad while crusing. As for a Glass pack, they are basically a cherry bomb for an aircooled vw.

I'm after a mondo myself tbh

Got a ceramic Mondo on my 1641. It's load when I give it some stick but fine during normal driving.

I find it has a deeper sound than my old single quiet pack but not as load.

Ground clearance is shocking though
